Nelson Emerson graduated from Bowling Green State University with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Sports Marketing.

The 4 yr letterman was a two time All-American, 3 time CCHA all-star, and finished as the Bowling Green and CCHA all time leading scorer.

His point total of 294 ranks 6th in the history of the NCAA.

During his collegiate career Emerson played in 4 NCAA tournaments, and became the first player nominated 3 times for the Hobey Baker Award (Hockey’s Heisman equivalent).

After college Emerson began his NHL career with the St Louis Blues. Playing 13 NHL seasons with stops in 7 different organizations Emerson finished his career in Southern California with the KINGS.

A five time 20 goal scorer Emerson finished his career with 195 goals and 488 pts in 771 NHL games.

During his 13 yr NHL career Emerson played for 12 different NHL coaches.

Quickly after his playing days were over the Los Angeles Kings added Emerson to their coaching staff as a Coaching Assistant. He assisted Andy Murray and his staff in player evaluation and tactical development.

A Waterford Ontario native Emerson has been involved with the Norfolk Pros’s charity foundation for the last 20 yrs. The program has raised over 500,000.00 dollars for Emerson’s small town community.

Emerson, his wife June and their 4 children make their home in Manhattan Beach, CA
